Thanksgiving Feast

 


1. Roast Turkey with Herb Butter

Ingredients:

  • Whole turkey (10-12 lbs)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Mix butter, herbs, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  3. Loosen turkey skin and spread herb butter under and over the skin.
  4. Roast turkey, basting occasionally, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

2. Classic Stuffing

Ingredients:

  • 10 cups cubed bread (day-old works best)
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • 3 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Sauté onion and celery in butter until softened.
  2. Toss with bread cubes, herbs, salt, and pepper.
  3. Gradually add broth until moist but not soggy.
  4. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes until golden.


3. Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 5 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Boil potatoes until tender. Drain and mash.
  2. Heat cream and butter, then mix into potatoes.
  3. Stir in sour cream, salt, and pepper.

4. Green Bean Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup fried onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix soup, milk, and seasoning. Stir in green beans and half the fried onions.
  3. Transfer to a casserole dish and bake for 25 minutes.
  4. Top with remaining onions and bake for 5 more minutes.

5. Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup orange juice

Instructions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes until thickened.
  3. Let cool before serving.

6. Pumpkin Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1 unbaked pie crust
  • 1 can (15 oz) pumpkin puree
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup evaporated milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Whisk together pumpkin, sugar, spices, eggs, and milk.
  3. Pour into pie crust and bake for 15 minutes.
  4. Reduce temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 40-50 minutes.
